20th June 2016

Seven of our junior members took part in a friendly competition against two other Shotokan karate clubs in Dublin; St Brigid’s JKA Club in Castleknock and YMCA JKA Aungier Street. We’d especially like to thank the parents who made the trip to Castleknock to allow our members take part in this enjoyable event.
Our members did really well, with Vinh taking gold (gohon-kumite) and bronze (kata) medals, Anjelica winning a silver (kata) medal and Bianca getting bronze (kata). The competition was run primarily to allow members get the competition experience in an encouraging environment. We hope to run another competition like this in Fairview before too long.
